FA (tree) BOOK application
The Hungarian Forestry Association created the Fa (Tree) Book documentary application on tree species supported by the Ministry for Agriculture. The application available for free both in Android and iOS systems gives the users help to identify 111 forest tree- and shrub species occurring in Hungary on the spot.
The interface of the application is easy to use; it filters the list of the possible species after each identified mark, as long as we can get the solution that we can check with the help of the photos depicting the given species. A description belongs to each species containing the most important characteristics of them, which deals with, among other things, the descriptions of the tree species selected to be the Tree of the Year separated.
This website contains the photo material of the Fa (Tree) Book, highlighting the characteristic features of each species (leaf, flower, fruit etc.).
The aim of the Hungarian Forestry Association developing the application and the online photo album is to spread the relevant information concerning the forests of Hungary and to present the wealth and values of the forests. The given tree species can be identified using the application during trekking and hiking, and you can get a lot of interesting information about them, on the other hand, the photos of this photo album can be downloaded free and everyone can use them, provided the source is acknowledged (Source: Hungarian Forestry Association), for teaching in general and in environmental education, for presentations and demonstrations, or even in academic competitions.
