Fishing Order

There are two dam-reservoirs in the county managed by the ZALAERDŐ PLtd: the Water Reservoir in Kistolmács and the Szentpéterfölde-Pond.
The diversified fish population of the ponds provide everyone to do fishing full of fun and joy, and you can do it if you possess a state fishing ticket and a special ticket for the given fishing area.
As predator fish species you can catch asp, catfish, Northern pike and zander, and as for peaceful fish species tench, carp and bream on both ponds.

Fishing regulations 2024

You are allowed to go fishing both to the Water Reservoir in Kistolmács and to the Szentpéterfölde-Pond just in case if you possess a valid state fishing ticket and a special ticket for the given fishing area.

Time restrictions:

You are allowed to go fishing from sunrise to sunset besides keeping operative specific prohibition periods. You are allowed to go fishing at night, on the night from Saturday to Sunday. General fishing prohibition is enforced on the day of carp stocking. The person or company authorized for fish farming shall introduce exceptional fishing prohibition periods in a reasonable case. You are allowed to fish only for predator fish species after carp stocking in autumn. Fish Farming Authority of Zala County has permitted an exemption from the specific prohibition period for carp in 2024.
Fishermen using the Fisherman’s Cottage in Kistolmács and the Fisherman’s Cottage in Szentpéterfölde are allowed to go fishing at night during the period of their booking.

Size restrictions:

Size restrictions shall be introduced in accordance with the operative legal regulations for fish farming, except for tench that is under specific prohibition period all year.

Caught fish over 6 kg, except for the time of taking a photo of the fish after it has been caught, has to be let go back into the water indulgently.

Quantity restrictions:

Adult fishermen (over 18) possessing a daily ticket for the fishing area are allowed to catch 2 pieces of fish a day from indigenous fish species under daily piece restriction and 2 kilogrammes a day from indigenous fish species that are not under daily piece restriction, catfish shall mean an exception of this.

Adult fishermen possessing a weekly ticket for the fishing area are allowed to catch 2 pieces of fish a day from indigenous fish species under daily piece restriction, all in all 6 pieces at the most; whereas 2 kilogrammes a day from indigenous fish species that are not under daily piece restriction, all in all 6 kilogrammes at the most.

Youth (between 15 and 18) and child (under 15) fishermen possessing a daily ticket for the fishing area are allowed to catch 1 piece of fish a day from indigenous fish species under daily piece restriction, whereas 2 kilogrammes a day at the most from indigenous fish species that are not under daily piece restriction.

Youth and child fishermen possessing a weekly area fishing ticket are allowed to catch 1 piece of fish a day from indigenous fish species under daily piece restriction, all in all 3 pieces at the most; whereas 2 kilogrammes a day from indigenous fish species that are not under daily piece restriction, all in all 6 kilogrammes at the most.

Other rules:

Caught fish that is wished to be kept and is under piece restriction has to be registered in the day-book of catches immediately; caught fish that is not under piece restriction has to be registered in the day-book of catches after fishing has been finished. Fishermen are obliged to keep the fish kept either in hand net or on mouth-clamp until fishing has been finished; fishermen are obliged to let the fish that will not be kept go back into the water immediately and indulgently.

You are prohibited to exchange the caught fish that you would like to keep with another fish. You have to slay the fish kept when leaving the fishing area. In favour of the protection of the fish population you are obliged to use a dipping-net and a hook-remover; a mouth-clamp can be used just in case of keeping predator fish species.

Adult fishermen are allowed to fish with two fishing-gears at the most, equipped with two hooks at the most. Youth fishermen are allowed to fish with one fishing-gear at the most, equipped with two hooks at the most. Child fishermen are allowed to fish with one fishing-gear at the most, equipped with a hook with a single perch at the most.
Fishermen leaving the fishing area are obliged to take their fishing gears out of the water; they are not allowed to charge other people to guard them.
In case of night fishing and of low visibility the fishing area has to be lit up.

You are prohibited to use a live-baitfish net and a boat, and to fish in an ice hole. You are prohibited to make a fishing jetty, a fishermen shelter and to reserve a place. Feeding and accustoming feeding of fishes are strictly forbidden.

Each fisherman is obliged to keep their fishing area clean and to take any litter away. You are strictly prohibited to drive to the waterfront by any vehicles.

Individual rules

Water Reservoir in Kistolmács:
You are prohibited to fish from the barrage, the lock and on the areas marked with boards. You are allowed to fish at night only on the side from the direction of the public road.

Szentpéterfölde-Pond:
You are allowed to fish on the side from the direction of the forest railway. A general fishing prohibition is enforced in the month of September.
