Forest Cottage in Kistolmács

The Forest Cottage in Kistolmács is situated between Kistolmács and Bázakerettye, 1 kilometre away from Kistolmács, at the northern end of the water reservoir and next to the public road.

The former traditional hunter house was constructed from the workers’hostel standing there a long time ago by the Zalaerdő PLtd in 1988, then it wasalso renovated and refurbished entirely by the company in 2020.

Due to the entire renovation of the interior the capacity could have been doubled, so now eight persons can be accommodated in the two separated sections of the house. The interior halls can be connected so as a result, the building can be used by bigger friends’ groups as well. Both apartments have two rooms, an own kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom and an own entrance. A roofed terrace overlooking the forest belongs to the building with the smaller floorspace; whereas a winter garden, which has wooden windows and wooden doors and therefore, it can be used in each period of the year, belongs to the building with the bigger floorspace. The forest cottage also has a community room connecting to the winter garden, where enough space can be provided for all guests at the same time. It is an ideal place for tourists, families longing for a quiet environment, and last but not least, for friends’ groups as well.

The renovation works could be implemented due to the Ödön Téry National Tourist House Development Programme.

Picturesque fields, the close station of the forest railway, the water reservoir in Kistolmács with possibilities for fishing – they all give the opportunity to the guests staying there to relax.

You can have the following leisure activities in Kistolmács besides the others mentioned above: trekking on the Pál Rockenbauer South-Transdanubien Blue-tour route, hiking in the nature, cycling, roasting bacon at the marked fireplaces, swimming and sunbathing.
